"Sounds like fun" ---11/16

Hey guys, sounds like a lot has happened since I last wrote. Mom and
Dad it sounds like you had a lot of fun in AZ, and I hope that the
quail hunting was as fun as I remember it. Jon and Nat, I hope that
you guys got back OK and that everything is going well with your
family. Ry and Brooke, hope all is well and that you are having fun.
Congrats on passing the bar Ry. Shelly, just tell your kids that there
really is no big difference between Brazil and Africa and give them a
break. Nate and Megan, congrats on the blessing. I wish that I could
have been there. I hope that all worked out well. Please send
pictures, I would really like to see Owen (others are allowed to send
pictures too). Jen and Shaun, thanks for the pictures, but Jen I
didn't get the first ones. Hope all is well with you guys. Derek, how
was football? I hope all is going well with school. Rebekah, I have
not heard from you in a long time. Is everything OK? Chris and Cam,
you guys got your Bobcat? That is so cool. Learn how to do a lot of
other cool things in scouts so that when I get home you can teach me.
These last two weeks have been really good. Two weeks ago, everyone
in the apartment got sick for the whole week besides me. We all stayed
inside for a long time, and I got really tired of it, but lucky for me
the other American in the apartment has Risk, and we got to play about
ten games two weeks ago. That is why I didn't get to write though,
they were all feeling to sick to go out. Thankfully that has changed
and now everyone is back to better than normal. This last week has
been really busy though. We had one of our investigators commit to be
baptized on the fourth of December, and then bear a powerful testimony
about how she knows that the church is true because of the happiness
that the message brings to her. It was really cool and made me feel
like I was actually doing something worth while with my time here. We
have been having quite a few people progress lately and it has been
making me happy. I know that the Lord has blessed us so much.
Yesterday, we had zone conference in Kumasi and Pres Sabey told all of
the missionaries there about us here in Sunyani and how starting the
church here in multiple smaller groups has been really successful and
has helped the church to grow with a lot of strength between the
members. He told us that the area presidency has really liked it and
that the mission is going to start doing the same thing in Kumasi to
allow those that live farther away from the churches can meet together
easier. The problem with Kumasi is that it is really hard to find land
there to build churches. Because of that in a city with almost 2
million people there are only 8 places for them to meet. With the new
program that we have tried here in Sunyani, it makes it possible for
the members to meet in the missionaries homes until they are able to
find land to build chapels. Within 6 months, there are going to be
over 22 places for people in Kumasi to come and worship. With the way
that it is growing and how well the church has grown in Sunyani and
Kumasi, it seems that soon they will be opening a third mission in
Ghana. God has really been blessing us. I know the church is true.
Love Ty
